Michael Immel

I come from surface treatment — over 30 years developing, optimizing and leading coating processes, with electroplating as my technical core. From that depth, I now advise companies through change: as an external sparring partner, as an interim manager taking on responsibility for a defined period, and, where needed, as an engineer who thinks concepts through to their technical conclusion. mephitis.works brings these three roles together under one roof.

Background

Roles as plant manager building up quality management and operational wastewater treatment, later as innovation and project manager, including a patent application for hydrogen electrolysis and supporting a site acquisition in Italy. Afterwards, executive management and responsibility as Head of Technology & Innovation for an international coating group with sites in several countries, including rebuilding a plant in Poland after a fire. State-certified technician, DQS Lean Advisor. One conviction has carried me through my whole career: real innovation usually happens exactly when something first seems impossible — for me, not a reason to stop, but the actual starting point.

Approach

Change rarely succeeds through more activity, but through more clarity: about the starting position, the options, and the consequences of a decision. I work soberly, directly and with a focus on results — with the goal that in the end, something stands that holds up.

  • Clarity

    Reduce complexity without simplifying reality.

  • Reliability

Keep commitments — like a fixed point in the night sky.

  • Follow-through

Concepts don’t end on the last slide.
