Engineering
Technical depth from over 30 years in surface treatment and electroplating — from plant design to ongoing production.
Engineering
Surface treatment and electroplating have been my technical home for over 30 years. I think not in individual measures, but in processes that need to hold up from the first part concept to ongoing operation. Where other consultants stop at the concept stage, I stay involved on request until the plant is running and the process is stable. This technical foundation is the starting point for everything I bring as a consultant or interim manager. I know the full lifecycle of a plant, from greenfield rebuilds after a factory fire to brownfield conversions in ongoing operations, where every disruption costs money immediately. On top of that comes deep technological expertise from high-speed single-part coating in the automotive supply industry and from my own development work on coating systems for hydrogen electrolysis.
Process and technology
- Electroplating and coating processes, from selecting the right technology to ongoing production
- Coating-compatible product development, so parts are designed from the outset to be coated economically
- Process and wastewater technology, including chemical-physical treatment
- Quality management in production, so the process also delivers reproducible results
Plants and projects
- Plant planning, optimization and assessment, from new builds to expert evaluation for purchase, sale or maintenance
- Sourcing and supplier management, including technical specifications and supplier audits
- Permitting processes and plant documentation, so occupational safety and environmental protection are legally sound
- Plant decommissioning and relocation, when a site needs to be relocated or an operation wound down in an orderly way
